I'm going to write this blog assuming you're unaware of some basics in regard to astrology and mythology, if you're not interested in the introduction I suggest skimming down to your "Ero's" and "Psyche" and reading how they apply to you and define your romantic/passionate side as well as your literal soul (aka - the psyche).

Introduction (astrology, huh??):

Many people assume that the only thing that matters in regard to astrology (and horoscopes) is what sign they are...this couldn't be farther from the truth!

When it comes to romance Eros and Psyche are the 2 asteroids you cannot ignore, they make your love definable.

I'm getting there BUT first we have to address the myth in order for you to fully understand what these asteroids say about you...So, here's my condensed version of this story of love, honesty, sacrifice and erotica (it is about Eros after all the creator of erotica)...

There once lived a beautiful woman, she was so beautiful that people came from far and wide just to stare at her omnipotence and worship her.

She was so otherworldly in her physical beauty that people stopped worshiping the Goddess of Beauty (Aphrodite) and instead worshiped the appearance of this mortal lady who was named Psyche.

Many would think Psyche must have been happy to be so adored in her time but this was not the case.

Psyche was lonely. She knew in her heart that none of her many admirers loved her for who she was underneath her physical temple.

Psyche's sense of loneliness grew and grew day by day as all of her sisters were married off to Kings and she remained home and alone, appreciated for nothing other then her reflection...

Meanwhile, the Goddess of Beauty (Aphrodite) was growing more and more irate. The Goddess of Beauty found many of her temples had been abandoned as the people of Earth were all worshiping Psyche and her beauty instead of the Goddess.

This was an insult to the Goddess of Beauty, being over shadowed by a mortal and losing her servants and gifts angered her to the point that she decided to do something about it...

Aphrodite sent for her son Ero's (another name for Ero's is Cupid)- as Aphrodite's son his job was to find people and strike them with his arrows of love. He also rules erotica and that which we need or want in order for love to be passionate and real.

Aphrodite told her son Ero's that he had to go and strike Psyche with an arrow that would cause her to fall in love with the ugliest being on Earth in the hope that Psyche would then lose her adoration and that the people would return to Aphrodite's temples.

At the same time that this was going on Psyche's own parents were concerned over the fact that their daughter Psyche has so many admirers but no one was offering to marry her.

Ero's flew to see Psyche and shoot her, as his mother had instructed him...but alas, when he reached her and saw her all alone and with such beauty he felt his heart quiver- he himself was pierced with love. He saw this lonely beauty and knew that he had to have her, as a God he saw into her "inside" and beyond the beauty and he loved it all.

Ero's knew he couldn't do as his Mother had ordered, he instead decided to fly to Apollo (God of poetry, light and art) and asked for a favor. He told Apollo of his mothers orders but also that he was in love with Psyche, he asked Apollo to instruct Psyche's parents of what to do...

Psyche's parents went to see Apollo to ask for his advice in regard to Psyche and they were told to bring her to the top of a mountain and leave her as she was to be married to an ugly, snake like beast that would take her deep into the underworld and keep her for his own for eternity. Psyche's parents were displeased but they did as they were told by the God.

Psyche a top the mountain was crying and awaiting the snake like beast she was now to marry...when she felt the wind of Zephyr blow and lift her into the air, he flew her quickly and peacefully over mountains, hills, rivers, sea's and streams until she arrived at a Golden Home, the most majestic she'd ever seen.

Psyche couldn't see anyone anywhere, just this perfect home but she heard a voice telling her "this is for you" and she knew it must be her husband so she entered the home. It was filled with treasures and banquets of food but it was barren aside from the sense Psyche had that her husband was there.

That night when Psyche went to bed she awoke to her husband coming into bed with her but she could not see him, she was told she couldn't see him but that he would always love her for who she was and would protect, cherish and adore her for all of her days.

Psyche grew to love her passionate husband that remained invisible to her but in the daytime he was never around- she only got to see him at night, this made her grow lonely and she missed her family. One night she asked her husband if she could please have her sisters visit and he agreed but he told her- if I allow this then you have to promise me that you won't let them influence your opinion of me. Psyche agreed.

The next day Zephyr flew Psyche's sisters to her home, when they arrived they told Psyche how lovely her home was and that she must be married to a real monster, a God of Monsters, Psyche insisted her husband was perfect and that she loved him completely. Her sisters told her she had to see him and that she must see the beast she was laying with...

Psyche completely disregarded her promise to her husband and when her sisters left and he came home she waited until he fell asleep and lit a candle...she stepped up to her husband with the light and saw not a beast but the beauty of a God- it was EROS- but Ero's awoke from the candle light and his heart broke because Psyche didn't trust that his love was real and pure. He was so insulted he left her and flew to Aphrodite's where he barricaded himself away to mourn the loss of Psyche's trust.

Psyche was devastated!!! She went and plead with Aphrodite to speak to Ero's but Aphrodite told her she'd have to complete some test before she could be deemed worthy of speaking to her son. She sent Psyche into the underworld, she sent Psyche into the middle of a waterfall, she sent her on task after task that could kill her (and should have) but Psyche managed to pull them all off.

Ero's was unaware of what was happening until a friend told him and he was angered. HE ran to his mother and to Psyche and begged Psyche to forgive his mother for testing her as she had been. Psyche agreed and all of the other God's and Goddess decided to make her a Goddess too and her Ero's lived happily ever after.

Moral of the Story and How it Applies to YOUR Romantic life:

Ero's loved and was passionately protective and sensual towards Psyche- Ero's love was unrestrained and unencumbered - he only had eyes for Psyche- he would have given her anything and everything forever and ever and not just because he wanted her physically. It was because he wanted her completely- therefore- EROS in your chart describes who/what you want physically and at a soul level from a partner.
